Abstract (EN)
The Anatolian Seljuk State, which was formed after the Battle of Malazgirt in 1071, experienced the Mongol invasion and entered a period of decline following the Battle of Köse Dağ in 1243. With the weakening of the Anatolian Seljuk State, Turkish tribes fleeing from the effects of the Mongol invasion in Western and Central Anatolia, the Mediterranean, and the Black Sea regions established Turkmen Beyliks, thus initiating the era of the Second Beyliks in Anatolia. Each of these Beyliks, which were candidates to succeed the Anatolian Seljuks, played a significant role in Turkification of Anatolia. In fact, the Ottoman Empire, one of the most important states in Turkish history, was founded by the Ottoman Beylik, which was an important Turkmen Beylik of the Second Beyliks period. Studies on the Second Beyliks period, which holds an important place in the literature of Medieval Turkish-Islamic History in Turkey, generally focus on the Ottoman Beylik. However, there are very few studies conducted on Turkmen Beyliks established in Central Anatolia, such as the Karamanoğlu, Eşrefoğlu, Eretna Beylik, and Kadı Burhaneddin State, as well as the Turkmen Beyliks established in the Mediterranean region, such as the Ramazanoğlu, Hamidoğlu, Tekeoğlu, Alaiye Beylik, and Dulkadir Beylik. The reason for this field being so underexplored is the lack of sufficient sources and knowledge about these Beyliks. The aim of our study is to provide information about these sources and shed light on researchers who will conduct studies on these Beyliks.
