Abstract (EN)

This thesis focuses on the investigation of the crustal structure and the determination of crustal thickness in the Central Anatolia Region through the integrated use of ground-based and airborne gravity data. The primary objective is to model the subsurface geological features of the region using gravity measurements and to correlate the results with existing geophysical and geological datasets. For this purpose, gravity data obtained from the General Directorate of Mapping of the Republic of Turkey and various international databases were processed using the Oasis Montaj geophysical software platform. During the data processing phase, standard geophysical corrections such as free-air, Bouguer and topographic correction were applied to the raw gravity measurements. Additionally, various filtering techniques were applied using regional and local Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) to enhance the resolution of gravity anomalies. The filtered gravity anomaly maps enabled the interpretation of subsurface structures based on lateral density variations across the study area. These anomalies were evaluated in conjunction with the CRUST 1.0 global crustal model and previous regional geophysical studies to interpret spatial variations in crustal thickness of the region. This study not only provides a high-resolution and up-to-date perspective on the crustal features of Central Anatolia but also aims to serve as a foundational reference for future geophysical research in the region.
