Abstract (EN)

In this study, needles and bark of the Anatolian Black Pine (Pinus nigra Arn. ssp. pallasiana (Lamb) Holmboe) were used as a bioindicator to determine the traffic originated heavy metal pollution on the forests beside the main roads at the Middle West Anatolia gate zone. Twenty four sampling areas were chosen on the roads which are connecting provinces and towns of Eskisehir to each other. At the end of the studies, it was determined meaningful positive relationship between traffic density and amount of Fe+2, Cd+2 and Ni+2 determined on the soil samples whereas there were no relationships in terms of Cd+2 and Pb+2 amounts. Statistically meaningful positive relationship was determined between traffic density and amount of Fe+2, Cd+2, Pb+2, Zn+2 and Ni+2 on the humus. Analyses of the samples from bark of the pine showed that there was a statistically meaningful positive relationship between traffic density and amount of Fe+2 and Zn+2 whereas there were no relationships in terms of Cd+2, Pb+2 and Zn+2. In the samples analysed during the study, it can be seen positive relationships between traffic density and Fe+2, Pb+2, Zn+2 and Ni+2 amounts and there was no relationship in terms of Cd+2 concentrations.
