Research into anxiety level of the 8th grades students at primary schools preparing for secondary school student selection and placement examination (The sample of Afyonkarahisar city)

This research aims at the evaluation of the differences of test anxiety dependent ondetermined alterations for 8th grades students at primary schools who are preparing forOKS.In this research, A Personal Information Form with 27 items and Test AnxietyInventory (Likert Type) with 20 items which was improved by Speilberger and hiscolleagues in 1979 and adapted to Turkish by Prof Dr Necla ÖNER were used. Thisinventory was applied 632 students who were at 8th grades at primary schools inAfyonkarahisar Bildem, ESD, Final, Kocatepe, Uğur Private Courses. Hypothesises of theresearch were checked with One-Way ANOVA, Independent Groups t Test and LSD (LeastSignificant Difference) Test in computer.According to the results of this research, a meaningful relation is determinedbetween in terms of test anxiety and groups of sex, age, mother and father?s schoolingstates, duration of course, OKS point/branch variety, mother and father?s jobs, parents?salary, test variety, parent?s attitude, study programme, parents and student?s achievementexpectation, sporting activities, student?s OKS aim, parents? test achievement attitude.Keywords: OKS, Primary School, Anxiety, Test Anxiety, Inventory of Test Anxiety
