Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the effect of creative writing at 5th grade Turkish Lessons on students' verbal creativity nd their attitudes towards writing. The sample of the study was composed of 60 5th graders from the middle SES level in Antalya- Serik, in 2014-2015 Spring Semester. "Attitude Scale for Writing" developed by Kırmızı (2009 ) was used. to assess students' attitudes toward writing course. In order to assess verbal creativity, "The Alternative Uses Test", (Christensen & Guilford ;1945); "Word Fluency Test", (Christensen & Guilford ; 1966); "Ideational Fluency Test" , (Christensen& Guilford, 1966); and "Consequences Test", (Christensen, Guilford and Merrifield, 1960) were used. In the data analysis of the researh, "SPSS Statistics 22" packet program was utilized. Within this framework, control grouped pre-test and post-test model was used by Independent Samples t test. At the end of the research, 1. It is indicated that creative writing activities, have a significant effect, in favor of experimental group, on students' verbal creativity 2. It is indicated that creative writing activities have a positive effect on students' attitudes toward writing; however it has no significant effect in favor of the experimental group.
