Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted with aim to determine Turkish teachers' levels of using the reading methods and techniques in which the Teaching Programme of Turkish Course.The survey was carried out on 113 Turkish Teachers who work in public and private secondary schools in the central district of Ankara (such as Çubuk and Keçiören). The data collection tool being created for the study consists of two parts. The first section is included in general information and the second one is included in some items on the use of reading methods and techniques.There are some options for each one of these items such as 'never, rarely, sometimes, often and always'. After the implementation of the survey, the frequency and percentage distrubitions were examined on the demographic characteristic of the participants and the percentage and frequency values were calculated by producing descriptive statistic made in relaction to the sub- problems identified based on the research programme Also, the relationship between variables expressing the frequency level was investigated. According to the findings, the level of the usage on reading methods/techniques of teachers can be varied.Teachers generally know and practice the methods and techniques involving in this programme.Some methods and techniques requiring time and effort in terms of application are used less by some teachers. In addition, it can be variable on the preferences of teachers whether some reading methods and techniques are commonly used or not.
