In secondary school religious culture and ethics courses teaching the values of accuracy-honesty

The aim of this thesis is to reveal how teaching the values of truth and honesty in Secondary School Religious Culture and Ethics courses is planned in terms of religious education, how this planning is handled in the textbooks, and the deficiencies if not adequately addressed. Our study consists of Introduction, Values Education, the value of truth and honesty in the Secondary School Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge course, Discussion, Conclusion and Suggestion parts. In the introduction, the theoretical framework of the truth-honesty value, the importance, purpose and method of the research are mentioned. In addition, a literature review and a concept evaluation regarding truth-honesty values were made. In addition, the data obtained as a result of the findings were evaluated within the framework of value education approaches and constructivist approach. In the second part, in the section on the value of truthfulness and honesty in the Primary School (Middle School) Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge course, the activities and approaches related to teaching the value of truthfulness and honesty in the Primary School Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge Curriculum and textbooks were evaluated within the framework of approaches. As a result of this study, it was determined that although the value of truthfulness and honesty was included in the Primary School Religious Culture and Ethics Curriculum, it was not at the same level as reflected in all units in the textbooks. In other words, it has been determined that there is an incompatibility between the curriculum and the units in the textbooks regarding the teaching of the value of truthfulness and honesty. In addition, in this section, the value of truthfulness and honesty in the Primary School Religious Culture and Ethics Curriculum and textbooks has been evaluated within the framework of the concept. In the last section, the results we reached in our study and our discussions and suggestions within the framework of these results are presented.
