Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine middle-school mathematics teachers' perceptions of the concepts of fraction-decimal-percentage and their opinions about the order in which these concepts should be taught. The study group consists of 135 middle school mathematics teachers working in 8 different provinces of Turkey. A form consisting of 7 open-ended interview questions prepared with the semi-structured interview technique was used to collect research data. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis method. As a result of the analysis, codes and categories were created that were reconciled by multiple mathematics educators As a result of the research, while the opinion emerged that the teaching order should remain in its current form, there are also opinions that provide reasons why the teaching order of these subjects should be changed. Based on the results obtained, various suggestions that are thought to be beneficial to the mathematics education literature, such as teaching percentages before fraction operations, are presented.
