An investigation of secondary school mathematics teachers' opinions about the mathematical modeling i̇n the lecture of the mathematics applications

The purpose of his study is to define the use mathematical modeling and knowledge of mathematics teachers at the secondary school and to ensure the development of modeling competence of students in mathematics courses. "What are the thoughts on Mathematical Modeling of mathematics teachers who entering the applications of mathematics lessons at secondary school?" İs the question of this study. Mathematics teachers who live in İzmir at 2014-2015 academic year constitute the research population. The sample of the study for the specified universe is 16 mathematics teachers. We used interview technique, as a method of qualitative research, were applied in order to identify the opinions of secondary school mathematics teachers as to mathematical modeling. The data which obtained after interview commented with descriptive analysis. One of the qualitative research design case study carried out at this study.
