Evaluation of children songs in secondary school music course books with piano accompaniment

In this paper, it was aimed to evaluate the use of children songs, in the elementary school textbooks, with accompaniments written for them according to the opinions of music teachers. In this regard, descriptive analysis has been chosen from the qualitative research methodologies. The responses of the interviewees has been collected through semi-structured interview forms which has been used to evaluate the accompaniments proposed for the songs that are in the textbooks subject to this research. According to opinions of the musics teachers who participated in research, it was concluded that providing accompaniments together with the songs in the textbooks and conducting the classes with piano will significantly improve the cognitive abilities and musical skills of the students.
