Özet (EN)
This study, which aims to determine the direct and indirect effects that predict science course success, is in the relational survey model. The study group of the research consists of 338 eighth grade students studying in Antalya province Muratpaşa. The independent variables of gender, parental education and time spent learning science, and 6 factors constituting the mediation variable of interest, 3 factors constituting the self-efficacy mediation variable, 3 factors constituting the anxiety mediation variable, and the constant science learning motivation mediating variable factor were included in the analysis. Simple linear regression analysis was performed among the variables. The significance of the mediating effects of the mediating variables in the models established with the variables whose regression findings were significant were examined with the Sobel, Aroian and Goodman tests. It was determined that out of a total of 13 factors belonging to 4 mediating variables, 4 factors for the independent variable of gender, 3 factors for the independent variable of mother's education status, and 10 factors for the independent variable of time allocated to learning science had a mediating effect on course success. In this direction, 17 mediation models are established. When the VAF values, which is another method for determining the mediating effect, are examined, the number of models showing a mediating effect is 5. After adding the mediator variable to the model, it tests whether the decrease in the independent variable is significant and it tests significance of the mediating effect.
