Analysis of secondary school students parental attitude, exam anxiety and mathematics anxiety

Abstract (EN)

In this research, It is aimed to search the students who study at central secondary schools of Kırşehir in terms of some variables like parental attitude, exam anxiety and maths anxiety, gender, class, siblings number, the student's birth order in family, living together status of parents, perceived average monthly income level of family, educational status of parents, mother's work status, the status of gladness of the school and class, owning of private study room, computer programs for learning maths, the maths level of the student as emotionally, people who help the student for lessons, taking private courses, daily study time, regular participation of students to any activities such as sports, music, art etc., and perceived parental attitudes. The research is carried out with the students who study at central secondary schools of Kırşehir. For this purpose, "Personal Information Form", "Parental Attitude Scale", "Exam Anxiety Inventory" and ''Maths Anxiety Scale'' are used in the research. It is detected that there is a statistically significant difference among parental attitude, exam anxiety and maths anxiety averages according to some sociodemografic variables of secondary school students. However, it is detected that there isn't a statistically significant difference between parental attitude averages in reference to their classes and taking private lessons situations of the students. There isn't detected a statistically significant difference among exam anxiety averages according to the situations what the student's birth order in family, or taking private lessons and also regular participation of students to any activities such as sports, music, art etc. Furthermore, there isn't a statistically significant difference among maths anxiety averages as for that the situations of gender, class pleasure, internet tools and computer programs for learning maths and regular participation of students to any activities such as sports, music, art etc.
