Research to i̇nvesti̇gate relati̇onshi̇p between abi̇li̇ty to debate, thi̇nk cri̇ti̇cally, solvi̇ng problems and creati̇ve thi̇nki̇ng ski̇lls wi̇thi̇n mi̇ddle school chi̇ldren

This study was formed in order to examine the relationship between the skill of secondary students to create arguments and critical thinking, problem solving and creative thinking skills. Mixed method research was used in this study. Mixed method research is defined as the study of qualitative and quantitative data combined within the same study scructure.In accordance with this description, qualitative and quantitative data were collected separately, analyzed and the data obtained were gathered as a result.The data collected in accordance with the purpose of the study were processed into SPSS-21 software package program.301 students studying at the 7th and 8th grade levels within the central secondary schools affiliated to Develi District National Education Directorate of Kayseri Province in the 2018-2019 academic year consist the sample of the research within the scope of the research. "Personal Information Form", " Critical Thinking Self-Efficacy Scale ", " Problem Solving Self-Efficacy Scale " and " Creative Thinking Self-Efficacy Scale prepared by the researcher were used as data collection tools.A composition text had the students written in order to determine students' ability to form arguments and these compositions were evaluated according to Toulmin's argumentation model.As a result of the study, it was concluded that there is a significant correlation between critical thinking, problem solving and creative thinking skills and argumentation skills in terms of variables of gender, grade level and number of books read per year.It is thought that the skills of creating argument will affect the students' critical thinking, problem solving and creative thinking skills, based on the results of the research. Based on findings obtained, suggestions were made to researchers and practitioners.
