Abstract (EN)

This quantitative study, in which a descriptive design was used, consists of six main sections: Introduction, Conceptual/Theoretical Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion, and Discussion. This study examined the levels of middle school grade students' attitudes toward grammar in terms of the variables of gender, place of residence, Turkish course success grade, the number of books read, and the daily use of social media, and the following results were obtained: With the first sub-problem, it was investigated whether there were significant differences in the scores of middle school 8th-grade students' attitudes toward grammar according to the gender variable. As a result of the study, it was found that there were significant differences between the scores of middle school 8th-grade students' attitudes toward grammar in terms of the gender variable. Moreover, differentiation was observed in favor of female students. With the second sub-problem, it was investigated whether the scores of middle school 8th-grade students' attitude toward grammar differed significantly in terms of the variable of the place of residence. Consequently, it was revealed that there were significant differences between middle school 8th-grade students' attitudes toward grammar in terms of the variable of the place of residence. With the third sub-problem, it was examined whether there were significant differences between the scores of middle school 8th-grade students' attitudes toward grammar in terms of Turkish course success grade. As a result of the study, it was observed that there was a significant difference between the scores of middle school 8th-grade students' attitudes toward grammar in terms of Turkish course success grade. With the fourth sub-problem, it was tested whether there was a significant correlation between the scores of middle school students' attitudes toward grammar and their reading habits. At the end, it was understood that there was a low-level significant correlation between middle school students' attitudes toward grammar and their reading habits. With the fifth sub-problem, it was examined whether there was a significant correlation between the scores of middle school 8th-grade students' attitudes toward grammar and the rate of the daily use of social media. In conclusion, it was determined that there was a low-level significant correlation between middle school 8th-grade students' attitudes toward grammar and the rate of the daily use of social media.
