Abstract (EN)

In this study, the financial literacy levels of middle school students were investigated based on the Learning, Consumption and Distribution learning area of the Financial Literacy concept, which is one of the skills in the Social Studies curriculum. The research was carried out in secondary schools in Muğla province for accessibility and saving time. Quantitative research methods were used throughout the study. In order to develop the scale, a domestic and international literature review was conducted on the subject. A pool of 56 items was created by using the arguments obtained, the secondary school Social Studies program and the National Education Social Studies textbooks. In order to ensure the content validity of the items in the item pool, expert opinion was received from 6 academicians who were experts in the subject at Davis Technique and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University. As a result of the opinions received, necessary analyzes were made with the 52-item scale SPSS 22 programs. In line with the findings obtained, differences were identified based on the demographic characteristics of the financial literacy scale and the sub-dimensions of the scale. While the results reached in some studies are similar in the literature, completely different results were obtained from others. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that students had a high level of financial literacy, 54.00%. It was concluded that it was 7.05% low and 37.90% moderate. According to other variables, it was concluded that mother literacy is at the forefront of impact. As a result, with this scale, the contribution of middle school students to the level of achieving the targeted outcomes within the Social Studies course has contributed to.
