Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to reveal the Innovative Thinking levels of middle school 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in terms of various variables. In the research, the screening model, which is a quantitative research method, was used to determine the innovative thinking levels of the participants by forming a large sample group. The sample of the study consists of 1493 students studying in the secondary school in the city center of Afyonkarahisar in the 2018-2019 academic year. The sample of the study was determined by stratified sampling method. Class levels are determined as layers. Each layer was selected by simple random sampling method. The Innovative Thinking (INT) scale developed by the researcher was used as data collection tools. In the process of analyzing the data obtained in the research, frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA), Scheffe test and Dunnet's T3 test were used. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the innovative thinking levels of middle school students were at the "Sometimes" level. When the levels of students in sub-dimensions are examined; It was determined that they were "Sometimes" in creativity sub-dimension, "Frequently" in problem-solving sub-dimension, "Frequently" in curiosity sub-dimension, and "Sometimes" in entrepreneurial sub-dimension. While the innovative variable of middle school students did not differ statistically, the level of class, number of siblings, family socio-economic status, mother education level, father education level, science course achievement grade showed a significant difference in terms of going behind my own opinion. It was investigated whether there is a statistically significant difference in terms of the variables determined in the sub-dimensions of the innovative thinking levels of secondary school students. As a result, it was determined that the students were not prepared to innovate and change their habits, they could not think enough innovative for the items that were broken or could be made more useful, they were reluctant to speak their opinions and if they were different from their friends, they rarely showed entrepreneurial, innovative individuals.
