Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research; to determine whether there is a significant relationship between organizational cynicism levels and organizational climate perceptions of secondary school teachers. For this purpose, in 2018- 2019, 712 teachers working in the official secondary schools in the central district of Bolu were given scales but 420 teachers could be reached. The 5-degree likert type organizational cynicism scale which was adapted by Kalagan and Güzeller and the 4-degree Likert type organizational climate scale which was tested on validity and reliability by Altınkurt and Yılmaz were used in this research. A data collection tool consisting of three parts was used in this research. In the first part, personal information of the participants is given. The model of the research is a descriptive study based on relational scanning model. Non-parametric tests were used because the research data were not normally distributed. Arithmetic mean, standard deviation, percentage, frequency, Mann Whitney U Test, Kruskal Wallis H test, Spearman rank difference correlation analysis techniques were used in the data analysis. According to the results of the study, it was found that teachers' opinions about the levels of organizational cynicism were in the "Disagree" option and they experienced a low level of organizational cynicism. It was concluded that the responses of the teachers' organizational climate scale to the Supportive Principal Behavior, Restrictive Principal Behavior, Intimate Teacher Behavior, and Collaborative Teacher Behavior sub dimensions were "Usually Happens". It was observed that the teachers responded to the sub dimensions of Directive Principal Behavior and Disengaged Teacher Behavior as "Occasionally Happens". The results of organizational cynicism and organizational climate levels were examined according to the personal information of the teachers and it was found that there was no significant difference between teachers' gender, education level and cynicism scale scores and organizational climate sub-dimensions. It has been found that there is no significant difference on the cynicism scale scores of the teachers' years of service and the order of the Principal Behavior, Intimate Teacher Behavior, and Disengaged Teacher Behavior scores from the sub-dimensions of organizational climate. On the other hand, it was found that there was a significant difference in the mean scores of Supportive Principal Behavior, Restrictive Principal Behavior and Intimate Teacher Behavior among the organizational climate sub-dimensions of teachers' years of service. According to the results of the analysis; a negative, mid level and statistically significant relationship was found between the sub-dimensions of the organizational climate and the sub-dimensions of Supportive Principal Behavior, Intimate Teacher Sub-dimension and Collaborative Teacher Behavior sub-dimensions. In addition that; it was determined that there was a positive and low level of statistically significant relationship between the organizational cynicism perceptions of teachers and Directive Principal Behavior and Restrictive Principal Behavior sub-dimensions of organizational climate. However, it was found that there was a positive and mid level of statistically significant and relationship between the Disengaged Teacher Behavior sub-dimension of organizational climate and organizational cynicism. Key Words: Organizational cynicism, organizational climate, middle school teacher.
