Teachers' and students' views regarding the implementation of the middle school mind games elective course program

The purpose of this qualitative research study is to examine the implementation of the program of the middle school elective mind games course. In line with this purpose, the research findings related to the objectives, content, teaching-learning process, measurement, and evaluation elements of the program were investigated according to the views of teachers and students in nine middle schools in the İzmir province where the elective mind games courses are implemented. As a result, according to the related research in the Turkish literature and the views of teachers who teach mind games courses in nine schools in İzmir and the volunteer representative students who participate in these courses, it was revealed that there is an effort to align the program with the official curriculum of the course, an attempt to achieve higher-level objectives in the course, various types of games are included, students generally enjoy the course, but there are various issues in the implementation process and shortcomings in meeting the expectations of learners, indicating a need for curriculum development studies on the curriculum of the elective mind games course.
