For teachers working in secondary school sexamination of psychosocial risk factors: The case of Çorum

The aim of this study was determined as revealing the psychosocial risk perceptions and risks that teachers working in secondary schools face while performing their duties. The universe of the research consists of secondary school teachers working in the Central district of Corum province, and the sample consists of 291 volunteer teachers working in secondary schools located in the Central district of Corum province. In the research, a 20-question questionnaire was applied to the teachers with questions about the situations they might encounter in their areas of duty, and it was assumed that they answered the survey items objectively of their own free will. The questionnaire used to obtain research data has been prepared in printed form. the survey, which consists of 2 parts, has 4 questions with demographic questions in the first part and 16 questions prepared to determine teachers' psychosocial risk perceptions in the second part. According to the survey results, male participants participated at a rate of 50.2%, while female participants participated at a rate of 49.8%. The service year has a rate of 2.1% for 2-5 years, 12.4% for 6-10 years, and 85.6% for 11 years and above. The age distribution is 3.4% Decembers of 30 and under, 38.5% from 31 to 40, 58.1% from 41 and over. The branch distribution is verbal field with a rate of 47.4%, numerical field with a rate of 31.6% and aptitude courses with a rate of 21.0%. The highest yes rate was answered to the question "it motivates me to take my ideas into consideration as part of the system in the arrangements made in the field of education" with 95.5%, while the lowest yes rate was answered to the question "I have encountered physical violence at work". When the participants' thoughts about their responsibilities according to their branches were compared, it was found to be statistically significantly higher in verbal field branches (p<0.05). When the physical and psychological violence at work was compared according to the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants, 33.3% of those between the years of service 2-5 stated that they had encountered physical violence at work, and this rate was statistically significant compared to other years of service (p<0.05). When the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants were evaluated according to gender; belief about professional reputation, feeling a sense of burnout, getting an occupational disease (p<0.001), thinking that the financial income of their profession is insufficient, encountering psychological violence, motivation to take their ideas into consideration were higher in female participants compared to male participants. This ratio showed a statistically significant difference (p<0.05). According to these results; it has been found that female teachers have a higher rate than male teachers in terms of getting occupational diseases, lack of financial income, suffering psychological violence, not seeing the necessary reputation of their profession, motivation situations for getting attention for their ideas, and feeling a sense of burnout. In addition, teachers have encountered physical violence in the first years of their professional lives, and verbal field teachers have stated that their responsibility is too much in the working environment.
