Investigation on side effects of comenly used fungicide undergreenhouse condition against predatory insect Serangium parcesetosum Sicard (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae)

In greenhouse cultivation, the selection of pesticides with low side effects on natural enemies is of great importance in making biological control sustainable. The purpose of this study carried out; Whitefly in greenhouse cultivation of eggplant and tomato, Bemisia tabaci Gen. (Heteroptera: Aleyrodidae) coccinellid predator, Serangium parcesetosum (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae), which has the potential to be used in biological control, and data were obtained by determining the side effects of fungicides that are frequently used in the control of fungal diseases. In this study, It was determined that Tebuconazole 13.05%-10.00%; Fluxapyroxad + Difenoconazole 12.50%-7.50%; Ametoctradin+Dimethomorph 10.27%-5.00%; Metiram+Cymoxanil caused 12.77%-7.50% mortality, respectively in the larval and adult stages of S. parcesetosum. All of the tested fungicides were found to be harmless according to the classification determined by the IOBC for the side effects of pesticides on natural enemies under laboratory conditions. When the egg yields of the adults obtained from the fungicide-treated petri dishes were compared with the average daily egg production (numbers/day) of the adults obtained from the control petri dishes (pure water spray), Metiram + Cymoxanil, Ametoctradin+ Dimethomorph, Tebuconazole and Fluxapyroxad + Difenoconazole applications caused egg reductions 7.36%, 4.29%, 2.76%, 0.61%, respectively.
