Abstract (EN)

The main theme of the thesis is on the philosophical thoughts on which the West based these discourses when building orientalism. the thesis which argues that the formation of orientalism is of great importance not only in historical and political events but also in philosophical discourses as well as in orientalism itself is an investigation of the philosophical dimensions in particular sense of orientalism. Orientalism means, in general, the Orient's research in every direction. Orientalism, over time, not only investigated the East, but also attributed certain attributes to the East in order to define the West and formed Western identity over these attributes. the philosophical bases of European philosophy in the formation of western identity, and philosophical theories of the discourses developed on the inability of oriental intellect, especially in the face of the supremacy of Western intelligence with Enlightenment philosophyhas accelerated the process of eutrophication of the East.the thesis will generally take up the discourse of the West in this process and constitute a philosophical analysis of the antagonism of East and West. the thesis examines the fact that these thoughts have historically started with orientalism and philosophically not with Enlightenment, went to the philosophy of Ancient Greek and Greek politics, that the anti-East-West opposition is not only geographical and historical but also philosophical discourses.
