Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to determine the reflections of women, men and children in the integration process of the second generation in selected works by Osman Engin. A total of five works by Osman Engin were examined for this purpose. Works were examined that focus intensely on female, male, and child figures. This research was conducted with document analysis using qualitative research methods. The data obtained from the works in question were transferred to the digital media (Microsoft Word). An attempt was made to analyze this raw data by content analysis. The analysis attempted to show the image of Turkish women and men who were harmed by labor migration from Turkey to Germany through cultural differences from history to the present in Europe. In this context, it can be seen that the education and development of third-generation children born in Germany is examined differently than known under cultural influences. As a result of the research, it was found that in Osman Engin's works there are reflections on women, men and children with regard to the integration process. It can be said that family respect has retained its importance in Turkish culture from the past to the present. It has been established that respect, one of the most important values maintaining the Turkish family structure, differs from the value of respect among Germans, and this issue is reflected in Osman Engin's works. It has been noted that the reflections of the second generation women, men and children in these fictional works by Osman Engin, made in the presence of many similar studies, are different from the Turkish culture in German society and this question has been attempted based on of factory examples to show. Furthermore, the issue of prejudice was mentioned in the study as it still hinders and negatively affects intercultural dialogue. Since the effect of prejudice on people is large, an attempt was made to reduce the prejudice to a certain extent based on the findings made in this study. For this reason, it is considered important to consider the work of other authors in the context of this topic, based on the results of this research. Keywords: integration, culture, migration, Osman Engin, prejudice.
