Economical dynamics of military and civil technologies in Ottoman Empire

In our thesis, we will try to investigate the need to leave aside the economic ideas of the great theorists, most of whom have had a history, based on east-west comparison, and to evaluate the Ottomans, which were neither a full Eastern empire nor a complete Western state, as their paradigms, dynamism and stance followed a unique development line throughout its history. The dynamics behind the economic and technological developments in the Ottoman Empire are discuss. In our thesis, in terms of economic history, the transition process from hunter and gatherer society to agricultural societies, especially the developments related to the natural energy production of water power in Anatolia, based on the necessity of working and producing constantly in order to maintain the existence of human in nature, has been mentioned. Along with waterpower, wind and animal power were also included in this process, and with the subsequent use of steam power, electrical energy and nuclear energy, people have been in a constant search for energy to get other elements, machines and automatons to do their own work. This work production method has been made possible by the existence of a rational economic system whose paradigms have been accept by the society. In our thesis, we will try to reflect the current reflections of technological, industrial and economic developments in the Ottoman Empire by using archival documents and first-hand sources.
