Abstract (EN)

In this study, the period when the Ottoman Empire captured Tbilisi in the 18th century was examined. In this direction, the aim of the research is to determine how the Ottoman Empire captured Tbilisi in the period between 1723-1735, and what it did to establish its own order and dominance after capture. For these purposes, the following questions were answered; What is the situation of the Ottoman Empire and the Safavids during and before the capture of Tbilisi; What are the appointments of governors and soldiers after the capture of Tbilisi; What repairs were made in Tbilisi Castle and what kind of grain and ammunition shipments made by the Ottoman Empire; What kind of measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of roads and routes? The study was tried to be carried out in the light of archive documents and copyright and examination works. In order to achieve this goal, source screening and documentation models were preferred from qualitative research methods. In the study, document analysis and descriptive analysis methods were preferred in data analysis from qualitative data collection techniques. As a result of the study, the following conclusions were reached: Tbilisi was captured by the Ottomans without a fight, taking advantage of the turmoil of the Safavid State, in the process of establishing sovereignty in Tbilisi, registration and classification studies were carried out in order to learn the socio-economic status of the people and to claim taxation, not only they strengthened the dominance with the appointment of governors and soldiers, but also road safety was ensured against attacks from outside, with the fortification works were carried out.
