Abstract (EN)

Elefterios Venizelos has been one of the most influential polticians in Greek history due to his actions. As President of Greece in years from 1910 to 1920 he tried to turn Greece into a state of law, He tried to make education accesible to everyone and he tried to make worker's conditions better. However, the main reason why Venizelos as a name become prominent was the efforts that he had for extend Greek territories. Indeed, he is the one who put Megali Idea into an action. As a good poltician and a bureaucrat he drew attention of Ottoman Armenian media as well as the world. That is why, in our publication the publications about Elefterios Venizelos were investitaged and which characteristics of the Greek President were taken into an account while being parallel to developments between Ottoman Empire and Greece in 1910 to 1920's. In our work our main resources from Ottoman Armenian press are Aravod, Ariamart, Artaramart, Aşhadank, Cagadamart, Jamanak, Joğovurt, Joğovurti Tsayı, Pütanya, Püzantion, Taşink and Verçin Lur. However, besides them Armenians publication Hayasdan, a publication of diaspora Armenians that is called Hayrenik also Greek publicaton Ethnikos Kirix and a publication based in Karamanlidika called Aktis were also used. Armenian and Greek phrases are given with the closest readings to Latin Alphabet. In the dates of newspapers Gregorian Calendar was taken into account but also Julien Calendars are given in parantheses. As a result of our work it is seen as that Venizelos was appreciated by Armenian public and publications. Such that Ottoman Armenian press took the side of Venizelos in a clash between Venizelos and Konstantin. However, this does not mean that Ottoman- Armenian press did not saw some inconveniences in Venizelos and his period. In Paris Peace Conference due to the close contact between Venizelos and Nubar Paşa, Greece was reflected as a friendly nation to Armenia. In the November of 1920, Venizelos defeat in Greek elections was reflected as a sad development in Ottoman Armenian press .
