Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to explain the activities of the Albanians to be employed in the Ottoman Army and to become a part of the regular army in the period between the establishment of the Asâkir-i Mansûre-i Muhammediye army and the proclamation of the Gülhane Hatt-ı Hümayun. In addition, the reaction of the Albanian mercenary to the policies of the Ottoman Empire, which aimed to make it possible to recruit troops from all subjects of the Ottoman Empire, was questioned. It was tried to explain the direction of the view of the changes in the military field of the Albanian warrior who served as a salary soldier in the Ottoman Army and gained his sustentaion in this way. In this study, which focuses on the conflicts between professional warriors and the Ottoman Empire, which wants to turn them into trained soldiers, the socio-cultural background of the problems experienced is emphasized. The reaction of the Albanian soldiers to the reforms they perceive as a "threat" in to their current order and cultural values was tried to be viewed from the perspective of both them and the Ottoman Empire. In this way, it was thought that the attitudes of the Ottoman Empire and the Albanian soldiers to benefit of each other would be more understandable.
