Religion had important place in the life of the societies since the ancient times. Religion is one of the most important factors in the formation of the culture of societies. This is also true for Turkish culture. There are many elements in our daily life that are influenced by religious elements on many practices, behaviors and beliefs, whether we are aware or not. In the cultural values of the Turks, the month of Ramadan, which is the month of fasting and revelry, is worshiped in the Islamic religion. The Turkish nation has given great importance to the month of Ramadan for centuries and this month lives in the most beautiful way. This led to the formation of a culture of Ramadan in society. Turkish nation Ramadan lived differently from other Muslim countries and made it a unique way of life. The Turks have made the concept of fasting a Turkic language in the Arabic 'savm' by introducing the 'rûze-oruzze-oruz-fast' phrase from the 'rûze' word in Persian. The Turks who gave Ramadan a more aesthetic appearance; they have formed a "Ramadan Culture" by bringing together the facts such as the peculiar entertainments, the sense of cleanliness, the poor care and the frustration of the sins. This special month was experienced in the richest and most beautiful way, Istanbul, which is the Ottoman shareholder. Both foreign travelers and local writers, in their works, process this rich culture.
