Abstract (EN)
In tetraplegic patients, many forms of intervention are not useful or low level of benefit causes problems such as loss of social capital as a result of not being able to cope with and facing chronic problems. After this inability to cope and the losses, the individual experiences a crisis. Some of the individuals who are looking for a way out of this depression accept death and even want to die. Euthanasia as a form of intervention arising from acceptance emerging from these and similar situations is offered legally in some of the European countries today. In this study, in which the social service traces observed in euthanasia practices are investigated, it is emphasized that euthanasia is not a suicide, and it can be seen as one of the compulsory areas in the Social Work discipline under the concept of 'end of life care'. However, the presence of Social Workers in euthanasia cases is of utmost importance for both the individual and their relatives.
