Abstract (EN)

Logistics has become one of the most significant parts of the process in many business areas. For an efficient logistics system, each stage of the operation needs to be designed carefully. Logistics approaches can be applied in the financial sector such as ATM cash management. Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) provide efficient service for a financial institution to its customers through a self-service, time-independent, and accessibility mechanism. For daily money transactions, ATM is the fastest, safest, and most practical banking tool. Many challenges have risen in the network design of the cash and these problems can be solved by optimized solutions. This solution aims to meet customer demand at the ATM and at the same time, minimize loss for banks. This paper states the combination of cash replenishment of ATMs and vehicle routing problems. The replenishment policy starts with forecasting cash withdrawals by applying various methods. These are statical methodologies which are ARIMA and SARIMA, and machine learning methods which are Prophet, and DNN. VRP Spreadsheet Solver tool is implemented to find optimal routes of trucks when the cost is minimized by using forecasted data. By creating a decision support system, several seniors are applied that visit ATMs if the stock level become below safety stock and the solver decides to visit or not the rest of the ATMs, visiting all ATMs every two days and visiting all ATMs every three days. This paper presents models and solutions inspired by automated teller machine (ATM) replenishment and vehicle routing problems for armored trucks.
