Abstract (EN)
The automotive sector has become a rapidly developing and demanding area. The importance given to color and design in automobile interior design increased with the qualities expected from the car, which became a need for people. Automotive textiles, with color and pattern elements, reflect the vehicle's style, different cultures, and the personality of the vehicle owner. At the same time, they are seen as an important factor affecting vehicle sales volume. It is expected that the fabric will be developed technically before the design in the automotive sector. This leads to some limitations in design. In this thesis, fiber, yarn, fabric structures, expected quality and performance characteristics of fabrics used in automotive upholstery fabrics were investigated in order to determine the limitations of technical requirements on design. Then, design process and design elements of automotive upholstery fabrics were investigated. In the next sections of the study, the necessary color and pattern trend analysis for the fabric designs to be made were made. Fabric design and production have been realized based on the researchs. Abrasion resistance of different quality fabrics produced is evaluated.
