Investigation of occupational health and safety awareness in automotive sector: The case of Samsun

In parallel with the industrialization and technological development in the world and in our country, there are some problems related to the health and safety of the workers who are the factors of production in the workplaces. These problems, which were not so important in the beginning, have become increasingly important as they jeopardize the efficiency of work and work and need to be considered. Since the 20th century, industrialized countries have had to focus on occupational health and safety issues. In our country, a detailed and systematic arrangement has been made on the protection and safety of the workforce. The Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, which is the most comprehensive study, entered into force on 30 June 2012 and was supported by regulations. These regulations are implemented within the framework of legislation in many sectors, but due to the lack of awareness of occupational health and safety, there are some difficulties in practice. Many occupational accidents will occur in the automotive sector, machinery and environment, due to the high workload and unsuitable working conditions of the employees. By knowing the risks that cause these industrial accidents, by determining what these risks can cause, reducing risk exposure and taking appropriate measures, the automotive sector will be reorganized in terms of occupational health and safety, occupational health and safety and work performance. Compliance with occupational health and safety in the enterprise will also increase the awareness of occupational health and safety in the enterprise. In this way, the increase in awareness starting from one business will gradually spread and be achieved in all businesses. Employees will feel safe, work performance will increase, and this will facilitate the work of occupational health and safety professionals and increase awareness. In this study, attention will be drawn to the awareness of occupational health and safety in the automotive sector with a survey study.
