A comparison of the one party (1940-1945) and AK Party (2002- 2007) periods in the context of authoritarianism

The practices carried out in the political and social areas between the years 1930-1945, expressed as the single party period, during which the Republican Peop- le's Party was in power, has been the subject of research in many disciplines, especi- ally in social sciences. The practices of the Justice and Development Party between the years of 2002 and 2017 have been examined in many disciplines including politi- cal, social and economic fields. In this study, a comparative analysis of these two periods on whether there are "authoritarian" political practices that are claimed to be applied in the Single Party period and in the AK Party periods will be done by means of evaluating these periods in their owncontexts.
