Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the problem solving and stress levels of Sitting Volleyball athletes. It was examined whether there was a significant relationship between these two conditions and whether these conditions differ according to demographic characteristics. Quantitative study method was used in the research. The sample of the research was 96 out of 120 male and female physically disabled athletes between the ages of 17 and 45, who were licensed in Sitting Volleyball clubs affiliated with the Turkish Federation of the Physically Disabled. In the study, "Heppner Problem Solving Scale" and "Perceived Stress Scale" were used as data collection tools to determine the problem solving and stress levels of the participants. Data analysis was analyzed using SPSS 25.0 package program. Data analysis was determined according to normal distribution analysis. Frequency and percentage analysis of personal information was performed. In the analysis of the data, it was tested whether the data exhibited normal distribution or not by looking at the skewness and kurtosis values. It was determined that the data obtained was between +1.5 and -1.5 and that the data exhibited a normal distribution (Tabachnick et al., 2007). Thanks to this result, frequency and percentage analysis, independent variable t test, ANOVA analysis, Post Hoc test and Pearson correlation analysis were used in the study. The statistical significance level was determined as 0.05. As a result of our study, no significant difference was found in problem solving and stress scales according to gender, marital status, sports age and psychological support variables. In the age variable, it was determined that the perceived stress levels of the 21-30 age group were higher than other age groups. It was found that single participants had higher perceived stress scores. In the occupation variable, a significant difference was detected in the self-confident approach of the other occupational group participants. A significant difference was detected in the avoidant approach of those with chronic or psychological illness. No significant relationship was found between the problem solving scale and the perceived stress scale.
