Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted to determine the opinions of nurses, care support personnel, technicians working in Acıbadem Bursa Hospital regarding occupational health and safety. This descriptive study was conducted with 301 participants on 12 April/12 May 2016. The data were collected by individual characteristics form and a questionnaire on occupational health and safety. In the analysis of the data, percentage, Chi-square statistical methods were used. 49.9% of the participants were nurses, 42.2% were technicians, and 8% were care support personnel. 78.7% of the participants were female, 45.5% were in the age range of 21-30 years and 50.8% were single. It was determined that 39.5% of the individuals were graduated from health vocational high school, 31.2% were working in radiology, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, medical laboratory, pathology and central sterilization unit and 47.2% had occupational experience of five years or less. It was found that 36.9% of the participants in the survey had a work accident, 14.3% had an occupational disease, and the majority of those who had occupational diseases were nurses. It was observed that participants reported psychological disorders and digestive system diseases the most as occupational illnesses. Nearly all health professionals (97.3%) were observed to be well informed about occupational health and safety. It was determined that the nurses, care support personnel, technicians received in the research group had high awareness about occupational health and safety. It was determined that employees' awareness of occupational health and safety, level of education, professional experience, working in the critical field and their position of duty did not affect them.
