Abstract (EN)

The research was conducted to determine the factors affecting the relationships, marital adjustment and attachment styles of the parents of children with and without special needs. The study between March and September 2019 a total of 214 mothers were included, including of 100 children with special needs (ÖGÇ) who are educated in private education I, II, III institutions and 114 children without special needs (ÖGOÇ) who are educated in kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and high schools. The data were collected by using a face to-face interview technique The Child with and Without Special Needs-Parent Identification Form, Child-Parent Relationship Scale, Dyadic Adjustment Scale and Relationships Scale Questionnaire with were used as data collection tools. Descriptive statistics and independent samples t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis test, Chi-Square and Spearman Correlation Test were used to evaluate the data obtained from the study. The mean age of the participants was 12.78±3.80 years, and the mean age was 10.03±3.25 years. The mean age of the ÖGÇ was 12.78±3.80 years and the ÖGOÇ was 10.03±3.25 years. It was determined that the mothers of ÖGÇ and ÖGOÇ are middle school and spouses high school graduates and the mother is responsible for the basic care of their children. There was no significant difference between the child's parent relationship according to the gender of the ÖGÇ and the person responsible for care after the mother but there was a statistically significant difference between according to the age of the ÖGÇ (p <0.05).There was a positive relationship between mother-child relationship and attachment styles and a negative relationship with marital adjustment (p <0.05). As a result, after the diagnosis of ÖGÇ, mothers to establish positive child relationships with their children nurses should plan trainings and provide support to the ÖGÇ and their parents in order to ensure that their spouses have positive marital relationships and secure attachment to children.
