The organizational citizenship perceptions of teachers working at the private and public schools

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the organizational citizenship behavior's perceptions of teachers working at private and public schools are studied according to the way they are employed. It is intended to determine whether there is a meaningful difference between teachers' organizational citizenship behavior's perceptions and their sex, educational level, working year's affects, their employment ways or not. In the first part of this study, the concept of organizational citizenship behavior is examined given way to conceptual development, related theories and several researchers' determined sub dimensions. In the second part, the profession of teacher is examined given way to related teachers' qualities, historical development, training processes in different countries, employment ways and present problems. Finally it is given cast previous studies' result in chronological order about teachers' organizational citizenship behavior's perceptions made in domestic and abroad. In the third part, the hypotheses are analyzed using the SPSS 15,0 in the eyes of data collected from teachers who work in the schools of Bornova and Bayraklı towns in city of İZMİR .In the study, it is determined that the organizational citizenship perceptions of contractual teachers', working at private schools, are higher average than permanent and salaried teachers. As a result of applied analysis; there is a meaningful difference between teachers' organizational citizenship perceptions and their sex, educational level. In terms of correlated concepts, t-Test and ANNOVA are applied concerning whether there are some differences between various groups or not. Finally; taken into account all of the study explanations and suggestions are expressed.
