Abstract (EN)

Private dormitories have an important share in the private sector. Especially in parallel with the increasing number of the universities in our country recently, the number of private dormitories has lso increased. Thus, over time, the disputes between students and private dormitory management have increased. However, these disputes become more visible with the outbreak of Covid-19experienced in our country. Since private dormitory contracts are anonymous contracts, it has been on the agenda that in which provisions,the resolutions of disputes shall be found. The legal relationship between students and dormitory management was built within the framework of the Higher Education Special Housing Services Regulation No. 31173, which entered into force on 02.07.2020,which regulates the procedures and principles regarding the opening, operation, and supervision of private dormitories, as well as the provisions of the Turkish Code of Obligations and the Law on the Protection of Consumers.
