Master's thesis examination of secondary students at private and public schools against physical education class according to different variables

This research was conducted to examine the attitudes of high school students studying in state and private schools in Manisa towards physical education lesson in terms of various variables such as "school type, age, gender, mother education level, father education level, class level". The research was planned according to the relational screening model by using quantitative research methods and techniques. The population of the research consists of high school students studying in private and public schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the districts of Şehzadeler and Yunusemre in Manisa province in the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample of the study consists of 1512 female and male students studying in a total of 12 high schools, 5 private and 7 state schools, in the districts of Şehzadeler and Yunusemre in the province of Manisa in the 2021-2022 academic year. 535 male and 403 female students studying in public schools, and 355 male and 219 female students studying in private schools were included in the study. "Personal Information Form" and "Physical Education and Sports Attitude Scale" were used to determine student attitudes. SPSS 21.00 package program was used in the analysis of the data. While analyzing the data, primarily descriptive analysis (frequency, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, percentile distribution) techniques were used. The results were evaluated according to the p<.05 significance level. According to the findings obtained; type of school, age, gender, education level of mother and father in private school, grade level, family's permission for sportive activities in private school, attending/not participating in physical education lesson, wanting to play in the school team, participating in physical education class willingly and with pleasure, doing sportive activities in the family It was determined that there was a significant difference in the variables. In the study, it was determined that there was no significant difference between the level of mother's education in the public school and the variables of the parents of the students studying in the public school, according to the variables of allowing sports activities. In the related study, it was concluded that the physical education lesson attitudes of private high school students were better than the physical education lesson attitudes of the students studying in public high schools, and the reasons for this were better incentives for them to do material, field and sports.
