Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the impact of values and irrational beliefs on self efficacy levels. Additionally, the potential differentiation of self efficacy levels based on gender, age, and educational level is explored. The research employs a correlational survey design and the study group consists of adults aged 18 and over. The participants include a total of 367 participants, of whom 264 are women and 103 are men. The General Self Efficacy Scale, the Portrait Values Questionnaire, and the Irrational Beliefs Scale are used as data collection instruments in the research. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) conducted through the SPSS 24 program are used to analyse of the data collected online. According to the research results, values and irrational beliefs account for 31% of the variance in self efficacy levels. Self-determination, stimulation and universalism sub-dimensions of values and irrational beliefs are found to be significant predictors of self efficacy. However, self efficacy levels do not show significant differences according to age, gender, and educational level. The obtained findings are discussed in the context of the relevant literature, and recommendations for future research are provided based on the research findings.
