Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, the development of a new liquid phase microextraction technique was developed for the analysis palladium metal, which is found in tarce amounts in environmental and water samples and has a toxic effect on living organisms. The determination of palladium was determined by microsampling injection system assisted flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Among the factors affecting microextraction procedure; parameters such as the effect of hydrophobic deep eutectic solvent ratios, pH effect, extraction solvent volume, ligand type and concentration, extraction time, sample volume, and the effect of interfering ions were optimized to achieve quantitative recoveries. A new hydrophobic deep eutectic solvent was synthesized by using DL-Menthol and Pivalic acid at a 1:1 molar ratio. Extraction was done at pH 3. The limit of detection (10.3 µg L-1), limit of determination (31.4 µg L-1), relative standard deviation (3.03 %) and enrichment factor (40) were calculated under the optimized conditions. After the optimization of the variables, the developed vortex assisted liquid phase microextraction method was successfully applied to various car washing centre water and sludge samples.
