Examination of the relation of teacher's COVID anxiety, job satisfaction and burnout levels in pandemic process

As the pandemic process created by the Covid-19 virus affects individuals working in all sectors, it is thought that it also affects teachers working in the education sector. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between teachers' Covid-19 anxiety, burnout and job satisfaction levels. The universe of the research consisted of teachers working in the Ministry of National Education, and the sample of the study consisted of 1341 teachers who voluntarily accepted to participate in the research. Quantitative method was used in the research. The "Coronavirus Anxiety Scale" was used to determine the Covid-19 concerns of the teachers, the "Maslach Burnout Scale" to determine the burnout levels, the "Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale" to determine the job satisfaction levels and a personal information form for demographic information. Teachers were reached online via Google Forms. 1341 of the questionnaires sent for the research were answered and the whole sample was included in the study. "SPSS 22" program was used in the analysis of the research data. Percentage evaluation and frequency evaluation were used to show the distribution of teachers' demographic and occupational characteristics. In the investigation of the differentiation status of the scores of the teachers from the sub-dimensions according to their demographic and occupational characteristics, the "t" test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used for independent samples. 95% confidence level in the evaluation of the data obtained as a result of the field research and 0.5 significance level was taken as a criterion. "Pearson Correlation Analysis" test was used to determine the relationship between burnout and job satisfaction. "Cronbach's Alpha" reliability coefficient was calculated to measure the reliability of all tests. As a result of the analyzes made, teachers; During the pandemic process, it was determined that their workload increased, their social relations decreased, their health deteriorated and they also experienced financial losses. When the mean scores of Covid-19 anxiety, job satisfaction and burnout are analyzed relationally, it is seen that there is a positive relationship between anxiety and burnout. It has been determined that there is a negative relationship between Covid-19 anxiety and job satisfaction.
