Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to examine the relationship between boarding house students' satisfaction with physical education and sports lessons, and their loneliness and digital game addiction. In our study, "Personal Information Form, "Physical Education and Sports Course Satisfaction Scale" developed by Uğraş and Tutal (2021), "UCLA Loneliness Scale" developed by Russell (1996) and "Digital Game Addiction Scale" developed by Irmak and Erdoğan (2015) were used. In our study, the Pearson Correlation (r) coefficient technique was used to determine the relationship between students' satisfaction with physical education and sports lessons, the UCLA Loneliness Scale, and the digital game addiction scale and their sub-dimensions. The population of our study consisted of students staying in boarding high school hostels affiliated with the Directorate of National Education in the Ağrı Province. According to the findings of our study, a statistical relationship was found between the Physical Education and Sports Course Satisfaction Scale, UCLA Loneliness Scale, and Digital Game Addiction Scale and their subdimensions. There was no statistically significant relationship between the total scores on the physical education and sports course satisfaction scales and the total scores on the UCLA loneliness scale. There was no statistically significant relationship between the total scores of the Physical Education and sports course satisfaction scale and the digital game addiction scale; however, there was a statistically low correlation between the UCLA Loneliness Scale and Digital Game Addiction. In addition, a significant positive and strong relationship was found between course satisfaction and loneliness scale scores on the sub-dimensions of the Physical Education and Sports Course Satisfaction Scale. A significant positive and low-level relationship was found between the course satisfaction sub-dimension and digital game addiction scale scores. When the scores of the digital game addiction and loneliness scales were examined, a significant positive low-level relationship was found.
