Abstract (EN)

It is extremely important to develop evidence-based and comprehensive programs for individuals with speech sound disorders who show difficulties in many areas with poor phonological representations. In this study, it was aimed to adapt the Parents andd Chilren Together (PACT) Intervention Program into Turkish and to examine the effectiveness of children with moderate or severe speech sound disorders. A total of 14 children, 7 children each in the experimental and control groups, participated in the study. While no intervention was applied to the control group, the PACT Intervention Program was applied to the children in the experimental group once a week for 10 weeks. At the end of the intervention, a 10-week break was given and then follow-up data were collected. Within the scope of the study, children's phonetic and phonological development was evaluated with the Pronunciation Subtest, percentage of correct consonants, error types, Auditory Discrimination Subtest, EROT- Phonological Awareness Test, while the In-Context Intelligibility Scale and FOCUS-34 Scale were used to measure the effect of the disorder on daily communication skills. As a result of the analysis, there was no significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of the children in the control group(p>,05). Significant differences were found in the pre- test, post-test and follow-up scores of all except FOCUS-34 (p>,05) subtests of the children in the experimental group (p<,05). As a result of this thesis research, it is seen that the PACT Intervention Program is effective on phonetic and phonological development and phonological awareness skills of children with SSD. In addition, family involvement plays an important role in increasing the intensity of phonological intervention and generalizing the targets to daily communication environments.
