Abstract (EN)
Opera is a field of art where the concept of performance can be observed explicitly. In this study, Magic Flute opera that was composed by Mozart is investigated in the framework of Total Art Work concept and Singspiel Form. Effect of Magic Flute on the Singspiel genre is explained through musical examples. Thus, the study aims to describe Magic Flute's relationship with the total art work approach in the form of Singspiel. In addition, the study presents suggestions in regard to putting forward "a Tale" "Magic Flute" opera more effectively in the process of staging. Mozart's Magic Flute Opera is analyzed and the relationship between Opera and Singspiel form is discussed. Components of an opera (dance, music, theatre) has been subject to many other studies. But studies that analyze the relationship between Opera and Singspiel form have not been widely conducted. That is why it is the aim of this study to try to reveal this relationship between these two concepts as well as to provide operational suggestions in regard to Singspiel form's effective function in the framework of total art work. Introduction part of the study is consisted of titles such as problem statement, research questions, aim of the study, significance of the study, limitations, assumptions, research model, population and sample, and data collection techniques. In the first part of the study topics such as; "Singspiel" genre, "Magic Flute" opera as a "Singspiel Form", musical analysis examples, "Singspiel" form's relation to total art work are explained. In the second part titles such as Magic Flute Opera, time period of the work and its characteristics, Libretto, composers who defend Libretto, works that become a source for Libretto, Symbolism in Libretto, Masonic Symbolism, The Legend of İsis and Osiris, characters, subject of the Opera, and the stage where the Opera was first performed are explained and discussed. Third part of the study is composed of titles such as; "Magic Flute" as a tale, dramaturgy analysis of Magic Flute, character analysis, time and space, costumes, accessories, concepts and suggestions for staging.
