Abstract (EN)

The empowerment is a modern management practice that brings together many applications on both the organizational and employee level. The quality of human resources or the level of human capital are in the position of one of the most important elements in organizations today, and they are the primary organizational element that organizations need to strive to attain for their development. The human and material resources that organizations possess to be able to maintain their lives should be evaluated in the most effective manner possible. It is possible in this way to achieve organizational effectiveness. This study examines whether empowerment activities have an effect in the increase of organizational effectiveness and their level, if present, in private hospitals that are within the health sector and that become more important actors each day on behalf of the utilization of health services. Relevant studies and the measurement tools used in these studies were examined by first scanning the literature in this respect. A preliminary test of the measurement tools was conducted by carrying out a pilot implementation, and the measurement tools were implemented for this study with the positive results that later emerged. The survey was implemented with a total of 531 personnel at 3 private hospitals in the Istanbul, Ankara, and Çorum provinces. It was determined in the results of the study that empowerment activities that are conducted at these institutions contributed, if limited, in increased levels of organizational effectiveness.
