Abstract (EN)

The objective of current work aimed to produce bio-active films from cellulose incorporated with chitosan and Rhanterium epapposum E-oil. A search through the literature revealed that no phytochemical investigation has been carried out on R. epapposum or the genus in general. Natives use it locally for its cooling effect on the skin. The developed film's chemical structures and morphologies were investigated using FT-IR and SEM characterization tools. The impact of essential oils incorporation was explored. The results displayed that antioxidant activity increased Rhanterium epapposum oil percentage increases in cellulose-chitosan films. The obtained results provide a high potential for production of an efficient food bio-films from cellulose chitosan containing essential oil.
