Abstract (EN)
The conversion of biomass, which is an alternative renewable resource to fossil resources, into useful products by thermochemical conversion methods has attracted attention in recent years. In this study, biomass based bio-pitch production was investigated and the experimental method was applied in two steps. In the first step, the beech sawdust was pyrolyzed in a fixed bed reactor under nitrogen atmosphere at a heating rate of 10 °C / min and a temperature of 500 °C, and pyrolysis product yields were calculated. The pyrolysis liquid product was characterized by TG / FT-IR, GC-MS, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and elemental analysis. In the second step, the samples of pyrolysis liquid product and liquid product-coal tar mixed in different proportions were subjected to vacuum distillation and the properties of the bio-pitches were determined. Using 75 wt. % bio-oil and 25 wt. % coal tar mixture, bio-pitch having a softening point of 122.4 oC was obtained with 51.5% conversion at 210 oC and 200 mbar pressure. As a result, it is determined that biomass pyrolysis can be produced from liquid product obtained from biomass pyrolysis.
