Abstract (EN)

Since the energy consumption increases with the development of technology, the need for alternative energy sources increases day by day. In this context, walnut shells are considered as biomass energy sources within the framework of the use of agricultural waste as an alternative energy source. In this study, pyrolytic oil production process was carried out by using pyrolysis method from walnut shell. In a series of experimental studies, the efficiency of pyrolytic oil production was optimized by considering the effects of working temperature, heating rate and gas flow rate. The experiments were carried out under the conditions of heating rate of 10°C/min, temperature of 400°C, 450°C, 500°C, 550°C and flow rate of Nitrogen gas (N2) of 0.5 L/min, 1 L/min, 1.5 L/min. The lowest efficiency was observed at 550°C and 1.5 L/min gas flow, while the best yield conditions were determined at 500°C and 0.5 L/min nitrogen gas (N2) flow rate in the optimization of the pyrolytic oil production conditions.
