Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted to reveal the cognitive and emotive preferences of the violin educators, in the state conservatories in Turkey, taken into account along with the approaces based on Pythagorean, Just and Tempered tuning systems of tonalities, and to the identify the differences and similarities in intonation techniques while proposing suggestions on the subject matter. Within the scope of the study, violin educators were asked to answer the interview questions which were prepared by taking the opinions of three specialist trainers in order to determine their cognitive preferences. In order to determine the emotive preferences of violin educators, six audio recordings prepared according to Pythagorean, Just and 12- Tone Equal Temperament tuning systems were played to violin educators and were asked to mark their choices in given evaluation forms. Eleven violin educators from seven state conservatories in Turkey participated as volunteers. The qualitative data obtained in this descriptive study using the screening model were interpreted and suggestions were included.According to the results obtained along this research, preference of the violin educators had intensely seemed conveying towards the use of 12- Tone Equal Temperament system, while their diverse use of other varieties without the knowledge of terms, had also became as revealing.
