The door image in plastic arts

In plastic arts, the quality of "open work" enables us to identify phenomenon of understanding/interpreting the past, present and the future expected from an art object metaphorically- with the image of door. In this study titled Door Image in Plastic Arts it has been foreseen that the door image has a multi-layered structure with its symbolic and demonstration value in historical process; door representations under influence of social, political, cultural and economic reasons have been examined in artistic context and under the light of the obtained data a research field supported with a bunch of pictures have been created. In artistic context, door image creates a feeling of having/not having a choice for the worlds belonging to "me" and/or "the other", and this creates a space where "door" is constantly questioned as a visible representation of relation of subjects to Father-StateGod authority. As an art form, door image has been repeated according to the need for art's transformation power, and awakening reforming desire it makes people think that they have another choice.
